inspired by Ruth from the <a href="http://raincloudandsage.blogspot.be/2016/10/slow-fashion-october-late-introduction.html">Raincloud & sage blog</a>, i decided to share my thoughts on slow fashion, because i feel like it is too important to just let pass again. (and also because it is really interesting to read and see the stories of others concerning this subject!) <br />
<br />
last year i just started following the Fringe Association blog and instagram feed when Karen Templer introduced <a href="https://fringeassociation.com/2016/09/14/slow-fashion-october-2016/">Slow Fashion October</a>. i was already following the Fair Wear Fridays, so the thought of “fair fashion” has also been lingering in my mind for a while. but it wasn’t until Slotober that i realized my behaviour as a maker also is a form of consumption. (that also really “clicked” when i finally sorted out my yarn stash - read more about that <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2015/12/for-while-now-i-wanted-to-write-about.html">here</a>)<br />
<br />
Slotober was so inspiring to me, that i decided to create a more “mindful” wardrobe from then on. i set my first steps into dressmaking and decided to buy more second hand clothing and shoes. collecting and creating this wardrobe is a challenge, but it’s happening. the key questions i ask myself before i make or buy are: do i really need this? will this piece last for a while? does it fit my style and will it go with my other clothes? <br />
<br />
i still buy new clothes because i simply can’t see myself making my own jeans, shoes, coat,… when i buy new things i try to go for quality over quantity and choose fair/eco brands if i can. (which isn’t always easy to be honest, because not a lot of shops offer those brands and i don’t like ordering clothes online.) resisting buying new clothes is honestly the hardest part for me. i’m used to mindlessly buying clothes (not that i go shopping every month, but when i went shopping i never really thought about it a lot and just bought whatever i liked), so it’s hard not to fall into that habit again. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4NNqct-sEfmR_2tR0jVIzRP5-H1fUKQdIkka4_xPsUv9F5Yjg3jpIIV6yK9uhaY2_URu9RPdNON0tU5fbINmRM8ni66PYU725E9gSruuqs_kMo4x7qHSiF42FrwRiCeuyoK9kjvO35uA/s1600/2016_clothes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4NNqct-sEfmR_2tR0jVIzRP5-H1fUKQdIkka4_xPsUv9F5Yjg3jpIIV6yK9uhaY2_URu9RPdNON0tU5fbINmRM8ni66PYU725E9gSruuqs_kMo4x7qHSiF42FrwRiCeuyoK9kjvO35uA/s400/2016_clothes.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">my collection so far. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
the aspect of making my own clothes is equally challenging. i have developed some sewing skills over the years (nothing spectacular but i think i’ve got the basics covered) and making my first dress ever was a big milestone for me! (and, more importantly, it turned out to be a dress that i love to pieces!) as for knitting: i’m currently knitting a lot of baby things because my sister is expecting, but i definitely want to knit more things for myself. i also cleaned out my favorites in ravelry, because not every interesting project is one that i would love to wear. for example: i love the look of lace, but i’m not the type to wear a shawl with a lot of lace. and why put all that time and effort into something you won’t wear anyway? </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">the inari tee i made some time ago</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
another aspect of being mindful about clothes is mending. i’m bad at throwing away things, so mending the holes in our socks and sweaters has always been logical to me. i’m still having trouble finding ways to mend bigger holes on visible places in sweaters though, so these usually end up as workwear (the same goes for jeans). worn sheets and towels or really old clothes end up as rags for multiple uses, after i cut off the buttons and other useable items. ;)<br />
<br />
my biggest motivation behind all this is mostly environmental and humanitarian, but it also fits into the bigger picture of consuming less and being more mindful about the stuff we have. this drawing by Sarah Lazarovic sums it up quite well. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

hello hello! :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
just so you'd know: this blogpost you're about to read is longgggg overdue. i cannot understand why i haven't blogged about this finished project sooner, because it was one of my bigger WIP's and i was super thrilled to finally have it finished.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
last year in march, Sandra from the <a href="http://www.cherryheart.co.uk/p/welcome.html">Cherry Heart</a> blog organised a crochet-a-long, a <a href="http://sandra-cherryheart.blogspot.be/2015/02/the-cherry-heart-blanket-along.html">blanket-a-long</a> to be precise. i joined in with my hexagon blanket, a project i started 5 years ago. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrq68-PaSoqGtAWgEtA00LCcQ49kF7xOxEaJzk_DHx-NHtUfxSnOHG2wthmpWAV4rPxmHO2pSYdT2NBisdPLxieHaO1EA9RnduMgjuDnsYIuDaDkIpjj4As6pmaBRpzdrosyO2Om6AKUU/s1600/hexagonblanket_FO_04+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrq68-PaSoqGtAWgEtA00LCcQ49kF7xOxEaJzk_DHx-NHtUfxSnOHG2wthmpWAV4rPxmHO2pSYdT2NBisdPLxieHaO1EA9RnduMgjuDnsYIuDaDkIpjj4As6pmaBRpzdrosyO2Om6AKUU/s400/hexagonblanket_FO_04+copy.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
so here it finally is! i'm super proud of this blanket, i still love the colour combination so much. when i purchased the yarn i had no idea yet of what kind of blanket i wanted to make, i just randomly put some colours together that i liked and started crocheting some different hexagons when i got home. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb-7yJotUU9_ZLI5W9LGhV6KZM8-wGfNA01kwfFDyphe5WXDfBuIby46UbtMTjrlRCIL0z3_WeME-lQ9rPkShwzBInBbQrj0siwpOGZchEDQzWlwtWs1rQt1W-AiqfCT8iKLWdpiaH35Y/s1600/hexagonblanket_FO_05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb-7yJotUU9_ZLI5W9LGhV6KZM8-wGfNA01kwfFDyphe5WXDfBuIby46UbtMTjrlRCIL0z3_WeME-lQ9rPkShwzBInBbQrj0siwpOGZchEDQzWlwtWs1rQt1W-AiqfCT8iKLWdpiaH35Y/s400/hexagonblanket_FO_05.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i ended up with a hexagon shape from a book, i modified the pattern just a little bit to get a more "solid" hexagon and i just started crocheting! it was my to-go project for four years, i took it everywhere: on the train, in the car, in the garden, in front of tv,...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguTUYdNqjQA63cSt28kqMvgu4luvqfjPh4zxXfrgdqPMHB0i3g29o2eqgNfkiqO_lwzH8Nf6BgHXErZj5_DB9MMqk73Aws74RpJqGXiUBWiMm87oGzjaSP6OHLW7taBiI6UgomsPRaY78/s1600/hexagonblanket_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguTUYdNqjQA63cSt28kqMvgu4luvqfjPh4zxXfrgdqPMHB0i3g29o2eqgNfkiqO_lwzH8Nf6BgHXErZj5_DB9MMqk73Aws74RpJqGXiUBWiMm87oGzjaSP6OHLW7taBiI6UgomsPRaY78/s400/hexagonblanket_FO_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
when i was finishing the blanket, i realised i also needed half-hexagon shapes to fill up the edges, because i didn't like a zig-zag border. so i made up a pattern for a half hexagon. (by this time i had already run out of coloured yarn so all the half-hexagons are white). i found a pattern for a subtle border online and slightly modified it. i wanted a bigger border but unfortunately i ran out of white yarn...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC3V_-eDUUaKhVzVId4EU024dXCaLiiaRdG4K7VyN9GzSYf1I6nDb3jtIm0kl0r4fXGPswHxB1UEvtbPPFmjZjsnyB4ZDKo5E-iZSUAd9x31e4ChKsLTsnjmuJ3aooTeN05OOWE7JUgUw/s1600/hexagonblanket_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC3V_-eDUUaKhVzVId4EU024dXCaLiiaRdG4K7VyN9GzSYf1I6nDb3jtIm0kl0r4fXGPswHxB1UEvtbPPFmjZjsnyB4ZDKo5E-iZSUAd9x31e4ChKsLTsnjmuJ3aooTeN05OOWE7JUgUw/s400/hexagonblanket_FO_02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
now that this blanket has been in use for over a year, i can say that i'm still really happy with it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
my boyfriend loves it too and doesn't want any other blanket in our sofa. :) looking back, i only wish i would've made it a bit bigger!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBOcRetVqNkxkI0vx8y9aKWorHZ-0HJLN4lb9ZDb5qWKtGAfp3Khf6MGr8n-h4c9TFlpVvALwqJci4sWAMpSIT23mQSdDmD28d976LykJ_qm1vB8AMwvBoQbhBvxtMcEuYv1NZo0qvXf8/s1600/hexagonblanket_FO_03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBOcRetVqNkxkI0vx8y9aKWorHZ-0HJLN4lb9ZDb5qWKtGAfp3Khf6MGr8n-h4c9TFlpVvALwqJci4sWAMpSIT23mQSdDmD28d976LykJ_qm1vB8AMwvBoQbhBvxtMcEuYv1NZo0qvXf8/s400/hexagonblanket_FO_03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the yarn i used is Annell Rapido. i'm quite pleased with this yarn, it's softer than most acrylic yarns anyway and it comes in lots of lovely colours. but over the years i became more and more of a yarn snob and i think, if i were to make another blanket, i would choose wool or at least a wool blend.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so, that's all about my hexagon blanket! i wish i could share more details about the pattern, my modifications, the exact colourways and so on, but i was bad at keeping notes... better luck next time. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

sooo, here's the first blogpost in a series called "things i've made last year but haven't posted yet" ;) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnrFcliw4R8LEWqQ88y5CnbK3EciGNtit_-s5fbPOpeha65qT3oSIbxxheCi8ZAgeydQ0lIEqOUcbuQ0fWqdEdmIgcXmSw8EBhnyx5j4YQcR60BTLb8sUnDiFUXcvSGYYCzEUYMd815OU/s1600/hatandmittens_FO.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnrFcliw4R8LEWqQ88y5CnbK3EciGNtit_-s5fbPOpeha65qT3oSIbxxheCi8ZAgeydQ0lIEqOUcbuQ0fWqdEdmIgcXmSw8EBhnyx5j4YQcR60BTLb8sUnDiFUXcvSGYYCzEUYMd815OU/s400/hatandmittens_FO.jpg" width="398" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i really needed a new pair of mittens as my <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2010/09/my-mittens-are-finished-perfect-fit-and.html">kochoran mittens</a> were completely worn out after 5 years of good use. i mended the thumb several times, which is fine, but they were starting to get thinner and thinner, and too cold for winter. i ordered some Drops Nepal online (to get free shipping on the yarn winder i wanted to buy, we all know how that goes), in a gorgeous grey-blue-ish colour.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
for the mittens i used <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-staff-mittens">the staff mittens pattern</a>, because i loved the cable/seed-stitch combinaton. i really liked this pattern, although i would use a different thumb inset if i were to knit them again. i knit them a bit too big so there was room for a fleece lining. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjccWewHJQwuPRT5a0cJgaKLDQ_839w0Dt4Xvg_gsD6P1OIwF5M5dVqsaOpCWgHTaLQYTQN-BJGnbxUT9GBZiKeAXgh5RBxPn9MzTlmHpD2ThFhwF31oX-KhHV-Dg4RpvlfIoi95JykI6w/s1600/staffmittens_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjccWewHJQwuPRT5a0cJgaKLDQ_839w0Dt4Xvg_gsD6P1OIwF5M5dVqsaOpCWgHTaLQYTQN-BJGnbxUT9GBZiKeAXgh5RBxPn9MzTlmHpD2ThFhwF31oX-KhHV-Dg4RpvlfIoi95JykI6w/s400/staffmittens_FO_02.jpg" width="400" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEg__NpBvyYO54E-O2BtXlihAtI6mD1aXDnW_EnYuo5t8LW3al0b5NcE6XVehyphenhyphen1vPU70iDOZqhIr_kSu3Lc_O8Yawhjv5I6j370jczIT6IESqlVhTaNOAw0lmycNHIN56UQOqpA0TFhEc/s1600/staffmittens_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEg__NpBvyYO54E-O2BtXlihAtI6mD1aXDnW_EnYuo5t8LW3al0b5NcE6XVehyphenhyphen1vPU70iDOZqhIr_kSu3Lc_O8Yawhjv5I6j370jczIT6IESqlVhTaNOAw0lmycNHIN56UQOqpA0TFhEc/s400/staffmittens_FO_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
next
up was a hat. i wanted something that matched the cable/seed-stitch
from the mittens. i considered several patterns but decided on the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peasleeville">Peasleeville hat,</a> which had an interesting construnction (you knit the
cabled headband first, then pick up stitches for the hat), and a more
complex cable pattern... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMdMgWcGEZG4Lbbp08yLh4SFfO5vbn0BFfNMXxb2CQrJp3uW-Sl1VX9Hbc40kQIlUQV7RSJKwlbDg54yuBHTHEWcYQiUnMqGMURrnTpPnACBygjpwYRz0aZG3iRUwrpRs7tuxCaPllN1s/s1600/cables.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMdMgWcGEZG4Lbbp08yLh4SFfO5vbn0BFfNMXxb2CQrJp3uW-Sl1VX9Hbc40kQIlUQV7RSJKwlbDg54yuBHTHEWcYQiUnMqGMURrnTpPnACBygjpwYRz0aZG3iRUwrpRs7tuxCaPllN1s/s400/cables.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to make sure i wouldn't have to frog or start over, i worked with life lines after each cable repeat. the cable part was the hardest part, obviously, and after that i finished it in a couple of evenings. </div>

i made the hat a bit longer to get a slouchy effect, which hides my bun a bit. and, for extra warmth, i also hand-sewed a fleece lining in the hat. the color of the fleece is not exact, but who cares? :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i must say, i'm not 100% convinced of how the hat looks on me. it's just not entirely "my style"... i think i have yet to find the perfect hat pattern for me and my ever-lasting bun. i'm tempted to give headbands a try but i'm afraid my head will be cold. has anyone got any experience with that?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
but, all in all, i'm still very pleased with how this set turned out. :) </div>

as usual, i want to start the new year by looking back on the previous year. :) i was quite productive in 2015 if i may say so myself. i wasn't the most active blogger the last year, so there are some things you haven't seen yet.. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf0koWf93WXgh_EGxsSQ04C3M3OqoQtngMpE6s-0kuSNH_eW2vpU7LSKgzfmJRYP1evLyAxOlX1V8wfhlWzeOrkwd0p-NdcZXtek1glTCD7mU3bbLqBg0ExxrwzE-aD2eJN0YMgXPzXCM/s1600/overzicht_2015_LR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf0koWf93WXgh_EGxsSQ04C3M3OqoQtngMpE6s-0kuSNH_eW2vpU7LSKgzfmJRYP1evLyAxOlX1V8wfhlWzeOrkwd0p-NdcZXtek1glTCD7mU3bbLqBg0ExxrwzE-aD2eJN0YMgXPzXCM/s640/overzicht_2015_LR.jpg" width="281" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in 2015 i made lots of baby things, because i became an aunt and good friends of ours had their first baby and i wanted to give handmade presents. because of those, i rediscovered how much i like sewing which resulted in 2 other projects: the beginning of a hexagon english paper piecing quilt with fabric scraps (pictured in the upper right corner) and my first handmade dress *ever* (pictured in the last corner). i also finally finished <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2014/06/ahh-i-finally-found-some-time-to-take.html">my crochet hexagon blanket,</a> by participating the <a href="http://sandra-cherryheart.blogspot.be/2015/02/the-cherry-heart-blanket-along.html">Cherry Heart blanket-a-long</a> on instagram! that's one big WIP tackled!! i also made mittens and a matching hat, and 2 pairs of socks. and some other small things like baby hats, scarves, a teenie tiny cardigan and a baby bib.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
as for my creative goals for 2016, i'm not going to set big or hard goals. all i really want to do is finally finish my stashbusting picnic blanket. 2016 is looking like a promising, but busy year, so i just want to go with the flow and see what happens. although it would be good if i work up some of my fabric stash with some smaller projects (not to mention i already bought fabric for a new dress and 2 t-shirts, woops). :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
what are your crafty plans for 2016? i'd love to hear!<br />
i also want to wish you all the best for 2016, and say thank you for your support.<br />

may your year be happy & crafty!</div>

first of all thank you for all your reactions on my last blogpost about destashing. :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
before i decided on letting go of my stash, i was destashing in another form: knitting (and crocheting) for charity! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
somewhere in spring i discovered a knitting group on ravelry, "<a href="https://sites.google.com/site/debreimadammen/home">de breimadammen". </a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
they knit for several charities (blankets for senegal, romania or homeless people,..), but one specific charity caught my attention: <a href="http://baby-nest.weebly.com/">babynest</a>. this small organisation collects all kinds of baby stuff (second hand but also handmade) for mothers and young families in need. a perfect charity to knit for, since i love making baby things!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTDvR8ukinNMUNKVr9RRqx9WLoZosIBzjDw42RZYxpQjis5-IzA9XUZhbUdRrIEXaDjNOM8XBy-XYTXszF8vad4kRuprcORqOQJsOJgsRUpLvzCq2H6xiwsNpe8Jwukkufzg_Yu3qgsIE/s1600/charity_all_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTDvR8ukinNMUNKVr9RRqx9WLoZosIBzjDw42RZYxpQjis5-IzA9XUZhbUdRrIEXaDjNOM8XBy-XYTXszF8vad4kRuprcORqOQJsOJgsRUpLvzCq2H6xiwsNpe8Jwukkufzg_Yu3qgsIE/s400/charity_all_FO_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
when i told my mom about this she was really excited as well, the picture above shows what the two of us made last year. most of it is her work to be honest: she made 4 sweaters, 2 scarves and 4 baby hats. i made a granny square blanket, a scarf and a baby bib. <br />
<br />
the granny square blanket was so much fun to make, i made big blocks which i joined with white and finished with a light blue border. </div>

and then i also made a <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/i-love-stockinette-baby-bib">baby bib </a>with 100% cotton yarn. although this was fun to knit, to be honest i wouldn't make it again, sewing a baby bib is so much quicker and i think also more practical. </div>

a couple of weeks ago i met up with Annie (one of the nice ladies who is part of the organisation "de breimadammen") to hand over our bag with handmades (and also part of my yarn stash ;)). we didn't have much time to talk to her but we definitely talked long enough to convince me that these kind of charities are GOLD. i admire her enthousiasm and all the efforts she put into this... so so so inspiring. :)<br />

for a while now, i wanted to write about having a yarn stash. i don't know about you guys but i had (until quite recently) a HUGE yarn stash. i collected so much yarn over the years. it came from everywhere, from sales, from the fleamarket, donated by other knitters and family, from webshops (because ordering just that one skein is so silly!),...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
my big yarn stash has been bothering me for a while now, i already wrote about it in this post about my <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2014/05/some-time-ago-when-i-was-buying-new.html">"crafty resolutions"</a> in january 2014. i was actually doing really good at following my own rules, this year i bought almost no new yarn and what i bought is already processed and in use.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv42cm2vB9Msbw0SA4z-twX7LCe3_CIo_dypUoCtKNs_7YZlIoD5Prft41U8F8xjaTgaqkFquhReCl8M6-UuwzlpsAyCsmR9hsFDFAcR8lTFju9lspNNXsLOOxpahzhKhxvzorRRK1V5c/s1600/personally-i-dont-think-my-problem-is-too-much-yarn-its-a-serious-shortage-of-knitting-time-07c24.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv42cm2vB9Msbw0SA4z-twX7LCe3_CIo_dypUoCtKNs_7YZlIoD5Prft41U8F8xjaTgaqkFquhReCl8M6-UuwzlpsAyCsmR9hsFDFAcR8lTFju9lspNNXsLOOxpahzhKhxvzorRRK1V5c/s400/personally-i-dont-think-my-problem-is-too-much-yarn-its-a-serious-shortage-of-knitting-time-07c24.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
some time ago, when i was home alone one evening, i started knitting a scarf with some stash yarn and it seemed like i couldn't make anything nice out of it. a case of wrong project, wrong yarn. i showed it to my boyfriend and he simply said "why don't you stop wasting your time and just make some pretty things instead?"<br />
<br />
that one sentence got me thinking, because it's so true. i was spending so much time trying to make something nice out of yarn that i didn't really <i>love</i>, just to get it out of my stash and so that i would feel less guilty when i did buy some new yarn. i also learned that no matter how nice the pattern, if you don't like the colour or the yarn anymore, there is no feeling of accomplishment and pride when finishing your project. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so... one evening, we got all of my boxes out of the basement and laid everything on our coffee table. (and next to it and on the couch because it couldn't possibly all fit on the coffee table.) we made 3 piles: "keep", "donate" and "sell".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHhTaGLqSYetjFKNr63nfRYKDeRNC6BUUGp6ys0q7BYYx9zGqnWXsghmbvSvFXKRocJfeZDOaJZIeg186G-ajbve7YUY4_GIx7LJHKxrTdO2I1Ym6qHaCrpgYm6YAOND3_tFrhPtJ5JOo/s1600/aboutmystash01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHhTaGLqSYetjFKNr63nfRYKDeRNC6BUUGp6ys0q7BYYx9zGqnWXsghmbvSvFXKRocJfeZDOaJZIeg186G-ajbve7YUY4_GIx7LJHKxrTdO2I1Ym6qHaCrpgYm6YAOND3_tFrhPtJ5JOo/s400/aboutmystash01.jpg" width="397" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i kept the really nice or expensive yarns, and all the yarns that i really loved. i donated most of my acrylics to charity (my acrylic-days are over!), and sold the rest online. i was worried that i would never get rid of it all, but only one day later there was a nice lady who wanted it all. woo-hoo! and now my stash fits in one basket. i repeat, <i>ONE basket. </i></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGHhtR28hODT39VQYvVQBjYEPvU1GTLzpJwKpFKQrycORtr__hUizVMK4XnctbCFdckJJ5oq6Aex8OXLcB5K1zaH1358w9xGLoQFR7R2EavuY6BqtRQ9bfmUuQ7RzOBUhBbyZTlPumUO8/s1600/aboutmystash02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGHhtR28hODT39VQYvVQBjYEPvU1GTLzpJwKpFKQrycORtr__hUizVMK4XnctbCFdckJJ5oq6Aex8OXLcB5K1zaH1358w9xGLoQFR7R2EavuY6BqtRQ9bfmUuQ7RzOBUhBbyZTlPumUO8/s400/aboutmystash02.jpg" width="397" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>left: box of sold yarn. right: my new stash!</i></span><br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i never thought destashing would feel as liberating as it did. going trough my stash now is about discovering real treasures of yarn and being excited about making something with it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i'm now planning on doing the same with my fabric stash and also with my clothes.<br />
and, ultimately, with all of our belongings. because why do we need <i>so much stuff?</i><br />
<br />
now i'm really curious about your thoughts on having a stash.<br />
does having a stash work for you? does it scare you to destash? <i><br /></i><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
let me tell you, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gladys-5">this pattern</a> is pure genious! i love how the main stitch pattern goes all the way down the heelflap and i also liked how the sock decreases were divided to give a nice, rounded toe. something to remember!</div>

i already blogged about a good deal of handmade baby stuff this year and i'm afraid it's not over just yet. :) good friends of ours had a beautiful baby girl called toni, which was the perfect reason to get behind my sewing machine and make some handmade presents!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirCsse7ekeTWiR2uiTiwNBqXj7krBJgPARFJ_AXT9vYWTY2BS0wsJAIx9cLXuQv0FT4wBSA4r5Qig20x6sYJIdZOQM658KJ13Ajk_CmtzBn-DHnJ78VsVMzSQSi8BWZOAOEGB6CJnSiok/s1600/babygifts_toni_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirCsse7ekeTWiR2uiTiwNBqXj7krBJgPARFJ_AXT9vYWTY2BS0wsJAIx9cLXuQv0FT4wBSA4r5Qig20x6sYJIdZOQM658KJ13Ajk_CmtzBn-DHnJ78VsVMzSQSi8BWZOAOEGB6CJnSiok/s400/babygifts_toni_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
this was so much fun from beginning to end! i had the best time picking out fabric with my boyfriend and thinking about what to make... i decided to make bunting and a blanket. it all started with the soft hot pink fleece blanket i found in the store (because those are usually a bit cheaper than buying fleece it in the fabric store - and this one was sooo soft!) and we just picked out fabrics that matched. which ended up in a girly but happy and bright colour palette, with polka dots and flamingo's. :)</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Qbna9QVvobFF4VjzdLZDV-Adsd3HS-xyct322BMVoxiherWBcYJogLmkorpBwx6yYPFbYhgOksddXQmuHlQr0cQsi6skmh_Py04IlMkjN5UtP0D3xFfinR5MwjdnXTO3W8xylWwGsd4/s1600/trekkingsocks_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Qbna9QVvobFF4VjzdLZDV-Adsd3HS-xyct322BMVoxiherWBcYJogLmkorpBwx6yYPFbYhgOksddXQmuHlQr0cQsi6skmh_Py04IlMkjN5UtP0D3xFfinR5MwjdnXTO3W8xylWwGsd4/s400/trekkingsocks_FO_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i chose the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-trekking-socks">Simple Trekking socks pattern</a> because i wanted something that was simple enough to show off the yarn, easy enough for some mindless knitting and interesting enough to not get really, really bored. ;) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the pattern is quite straight-forward but features a broken rib detail on the toes and on the cuff. it also has a reinforced heel, which definitely feels quite durable and sturdy and is fun to knit also!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg98IT4uqn9wXgvSy-g8CZptg6ihLTkXpSuRBauW06YQ6raaxaxc-A1sxvAMuHiLm4fXGRNT3V-dE9TofoIc21-labMhzwcfbI41RjFCWiKdZpFBVjwBapdqCpIAUEj1HeX3tb_2QH77Vs/s1600/trekkingsocks_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg98IT4uqn9wXgvSy-g8CZptg6ihLTkXpSuRBauW06YQ6raaxaxc-A1sxvAMuHiLm4fXGRNT3V-dE9TofoIc21-labMhzwcfbI41RjFCWiKdZpFBVjwBapdqCpIAUEj1HeX3tb_2QH77Vs/s400/trekkingsocks_FO_02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzsxZFBvSFwzYATXA5dupksVUQUbCOiByuWvc6vOnsDtZ-Xjcg16NvnIe3YFT1COOMcxsIhow5i5rQprRH7sfNcVawkYugoJaBirTH3IAFIo5S7oDIJNkszrV3emyhy2JHDl9Y21_flHw/s1600/trekkingsocks_FO_03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzsxZFBvSFwzYATXA5dupksVUQUbCOiByuWvc6vOnsDtZ-Xjcg16NvnIe3YFT1COOMcxsIhow5i5rQprRH7sfNcVawkYugoJaBirTH3IAFIo5S7oDIJNkszrV3emyhy2JHDl9Y21_flHw/s400/trekkingsocks_FO_03.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
i must say, i was happy and relieved to finish these, because i'm not too crazy about
them! for a while i was thinking about starting again with a different pattern, but then i realised my biggest problem with these is mainly because of the yarn. the colours are quite masculine
and not very cheerful.. i'm glad i pushed trough, because they fit great, they really are super comfy! (hurray for ribbed socks) </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
so nevertheless, another warm and comfy pair was added to my sock drawer! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
♥ </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
we just returned from lovely holidays in Normandy, France! although we
didn't have the best weather, we did have a great time and came home
well rested and very impressed by the nature and WOII history of the
places we visited. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
but vacation just wouldn't be vacation if it didn't involve a good
amount of knitting. ;) i started a new pair of socks again couple of

again a finished pair to add to my sock drawer!</div>

i also took a new project with me, because this pair was almost finished and i printed out a gorgeous pattern weeks ago... :) so in the last couple of days of our holidays i started knitting on a pair of Gladys socks! something a bit more challenging and with a solid yarn for a change! don't you just love the chevrons? </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
there's a post about my finished pair of socks coming up real soon.. but first there is some post-holidays washing and ironing to do... :) how did you spend your vacation? was it good? do you also take your crafty projects along? do tell me in the comment section! :) </div>

those who follow me on instagram might have noticed: there are loads of crafty things going on but rarely something shows up on the blog. some of you know i started combining my full-time job with working as a freelance designer a year ago, and i must say, the past year i really struggled to find the right balance between my job and my free time, which is why it's been so quiet here. all the free time i had was going to relaxing and actually making stuff, and blogging about the process just became too much. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
that's when i thought about giving up my blog, but blogging gave me so much opportunities, like giving workshops at the Maakdag, winning great stuff, and designing a book (which you can WIN! <a href="http://gedachtesprongetjes.blogspot.be/2015/06/hoeraatje-voor-art-deco-met-give-away.html">click here!</a>) i also learned so much stuff reading blogs and met so many inspiring people (both in real life as online)! i realized i didn't want to stop and blog along, even if it's just once a month.<br />
<br />
so anyways, here's what i've been up to lately.. because that's what blogging is about, no? ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoLFeAO40l2VF64emeZkhwDs2xeo89VwlgL8aIZ5k8LutpkW3OUnZZ7bII3GpMa6izyIXd48d6raj8NoVUMlWFt-aOa44Z4Sdk7_cYA5Vnx2XrTvXHqrT2BjB7GN_VzP_jjj6eThgQWvg/s1600/newbornhat_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoLFeAO40l2VF64emeZkhwDs2xeo89VwlgL8aIZ5k8LutpkW3OUnZZ7bII3GpMa6izyIXd48d6raj8NoVUMlWFt-aOa44Z4Sdk7_cYA5Vnx2XrTvXHqrT2BjB7GN_VzP_jjj6eThgQWvg/s400/newbornhat_FO_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
i made a cute little hat for friends who are expecting their first baby in august. it was a fun change from my usual go-to hat (the aviatrix pattern). this pattern is called "alladin" (excellent name!) and you can find it here <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/b21-34-alladin">on ravelry. </a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMIYxOYfb-u8Kvvy9gvD6qgRh-Nrv9GRJE1ZzN3Le0YZODuoI0ZT6nOYfJBtPdLWBZDJ_W3UJKFKpeDdi79YvqKLDFug2r5bHG_9Vw8P5k1c5XBut4ibQw6tITazRiBJl8_MvJ4parFwc/s1600/newbornhat_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMIYxOYfb-u8Kvvy9gvD6qgRh-Nrv9GRJE1ZzN3Le0YZODuoI0ZT6nOYfJBtPdLWBZDJ_W3UJKFKpeDdi79YvqKLDFug2r5bHG_9Vw8P5k1c5XBut4ibQw6tITazRiBJl8_MvJ4parFwc/s400/newbornhat_FO_02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
i changed the i-cord straps to a garter stitch strap because i didn't like how my i-cord looked. i also did another kind of increase which is why my hat looks slightly different from the pictures. i used Apilou yarn from Veritas, by the way.<br />
<br />
<br />
and then i also made this baby blanket! this time i used fleece, piping and a cute Soft Cactus fabric. it was finished in a couple of hours (cutting the fabric was the hardest part, honestly) and it now keeps my niece warm when she is staying with my parents! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT-izeQ2IgWdf032wbTzW9aKxKkSOYExoIpC5fu8mZxkiua60DdcygQZVyqJl_7fB-VymHc1YN21NGEAATrMIyvtcESsX7Wpd6uOhNfY6Q35hTCdUSU-ylyu5fFt3_DVKkoS7-Hb5jSOM/s1600/babyblanket_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT-izeQ2IgWdf032wbTzW9aKxKkSOYExoIpC5fu8mZxkiua60DdcygQZVyqJl_7fB-VymHc1YN21NGEAATrMIyvtcESsX7Wpd6uOhNfY6Q35hTCdUSU-ylyu5fFt3_DVKkoS7-Hb5jSOM/s400/babyblanket_FO_01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPoWSvQ9wEkD_m3_bNpJKldJhLtIwFBpQFgTsFYQX1zMwjgZGNyacIt05pdMEUMtsNKjqmuCBBuAOek836-nxEeTJBBPR2UGUrQ8M_HVH0HnZi_W09WBkxMKOQY9DPIiNXwEJxjTtWKps/s1600/babyblanket_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPoWSvQ9wEkD_m3_bNpJKldJhLtIwFBpQFgTsFYQX1zMwjgZGNyacIt05pdMEUMtsNKjqmuCBBuAOek836-nxEeTJBBPR2UGUrQ8M_HVH0HnZi_W09WBkxMKOQY9DPIiNXwEJxjTtWKps/s400/babyblanket_FO_02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and then i also finished my hexagon blanket by participating in the <a href="http://sandra-cherryheart.blogspot.be/2015/02/the-cherry-heart-blanket-along.html">Cherry Heart blanket-a-long</a>, but i still didn't take a decent picture of it. it's already been put to good use in the chilly winter/pre-spring days though! </div>

severienhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15736367962359756090noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472230723120240333.post-11730338379784888052015-05-11T22:48:00.002+02:002015-05-11T22:50:11.825+02:00<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
somewhere last year, i somehow got my sewing mojo back! i started simple by making some bibs for babies (and never finished half of them, because i hate biais tape.) but i rediscovered how much i actually like sewing and i made some gifts for my little niece. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwlMA2JSOMhay63RFjqyc3KCKxkI0QuwqXqpxZBsOxtLBAgo8iGWiTaZhJsZmcuCf3mpAYvf5jQ6M81eCb_h73uLBOZJI7HIsT9-Y67Iee83YAc3ue0L-5gUklPAMcph05CpeJTdwyrF4/s1600/kaphanddoek_FO2_patch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwlMA2JSOMhay63RFjqyc3KCKxkI0QuwqXqpxZBsOxtLBAgo8iGWiTaZhJsZmcuCf3mpAYvf5jQ6M81eCb_h73uLBOZJI7HIsT9-Y67Iee83YAc3ue0L-5gUklPAMcph05CpeJTdwyrF4/s400/kaphanddoek_FO2_patch.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
first of all, i made a hooded towel. i'm all about practical gifts and i like giving someting they can actually use and not grow out of too quickly like clothes. this towel is a bit too big for her now but will last quite some time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl2Yy63Ih1F30hNJXTQTWomD-AN0I0TNUDMQziXr5bFgvYiOk6Gxr-SQXcIYfI5ZlttEfFuUv8gdfkmJ895ht7H282E46yh8-HTEZMopsJY4U-tRoyYaIzaZwU-r6gQb8liVpUNG4tK1Q/s1600/kaphanddoek_FO1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl2Yy63Ih1F30hNJXTQTWomD-AN0I0TNUDMQziXr5bFgvYiOk6Gxr-SQXcIYfI5ZlttEfFuUv8gdfkmJ895ht7H282E46yh8-HTEZMopsJY4U-tRoyYaIzaZwU-r6gQb8liVpUNG4tK1Q/s400/kaphanddoek_FO1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i picked fabrics to match the knitted blanket... <i>(the colours are more true in the first two pictures)</i> there was no way to photograph the hooded towel properly because i have no baby model, but you can click <a href="http://wentiti.be/2012/08/27/tutorial-kaphanddoek/">here </a>for the cute-baby-picture and also view the tutorial i used (dutch only). ;) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgil7pUoz7W5mmePt00QjX2G8L5whJU2H_EU-0BiLDJsRIkBnrE8nMQMWhDxrT6mWc27_xZGqAKg-wddOFmWthnwFeAhYgnH1dZHDLcLCfx4vY07DGa4MOtcZavMhDUNlSjiF5-MeACLUs/s1600/kaphanddoek_FO3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgil7pUoz7W5mmePt00QjX2G8L5whJU2H_EU-0BiLDJsRIkBnrE8nMQMWhDxrT6mWc27_xZGqAKg-wddOFmWthnwFeAhYgnH1dZHDLcLCfx4vY07DGa4MOtcZavMhDUNlSjiF5-MeACLUs/s400/kaphanddoek_FO3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and because i felt like my gift wasn't "finished" yet, i also made colourful, personalized bunting! used some of the fabric i from the towel but also some more colourful fabrics, because bunting should be happy and fun, right? i followed <a href="http://oontje.blogspot.be/2011/06/hoe-maakt-u-het-de-vlaggenlijn.html">this tutorial</a> (dutch only) to make these! </div>

hi there!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
those who follow me on instagram might have noticed i've recently become an auntie for the very first time! my brother and his girlfriend had a beautiful baby girl called Olivia two weeks ago! we were all so excited since the day we knew they were expecting! so, ofcourse, i had to make some stuff for the baby! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3HxvmFzI5Y9mRYc4nkKBlnallgT0MlsJAN1l7PXEh4_3EunSeg_c4oXl6A4a2xqCkRirlFvWU6WbZAjgf0QJcXHpCfDMc1WO4JbGUWk6U-WPeaC8H_D0kVrqNh2mppL3uzKe1KXrBxpA/s1600/dekentje_FO3_patch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3HxvmFzI5Y9mRYc4nkKBlnallgT0MlsJAN1l7PXEh4_3EunSeg_c4oXl6A4a2xqCkRirlFvWU6WbZAjgf0QJcXHpCfDMc1WO4JbGUWk6U-WPeaC8H_D0kVrqNh2mppL3uzKe1KXrBxpA/s1600/dekentje_FO3_patch.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the first thing i want to share is the one i'm most excited about: i made a soft, light baby blanket in 100% merino wool. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghEvpylqMtiBf8UVHPpNZEIiToSH_KXq1-FLsFJscT9v4Xz_NCJDGpmVE0ALNTfCUuEGrrLgGYRzbzHI4MINivUV_frYWdAwDXBqoLbTwo4tDPDIajjyj9Qlvj4P24w5rsZPNXYmbWrbM/s1600/dekentje_FO1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghEvpylqMtiBf8UVHPpNZEIiToSH_KXq1-FLsFJscT9v4Xz_NCJDGpmVE0ALNTfCUuEGrrLgGYRzbzHI4MINivUV_frYWdAwDXBqoLbTwo4tDPDIajjyj9Qlvj4P24w5rsZPNXYmbWrbM/s1600/dekentje_FO1.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
why a blanket? i personally think (though i never had a baby) they are
very useful: they can be used for keeping warm, in the car or in the
crib, maybe even as a play mat or for lying on. or maybe just as home
decor if you don't use it in any other way. ;) it seems like a sensible, useful gift that lasts long and that they don't outgrow too fast. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwtFR_Y7Ez2gxvzqSVnKDwLsTjp6mL6i7LQl0jbOffkDVGPYQOFGGbptbtDop4puIIGcKcBBeeK61rYCElUfzJ9SMbhfOOg_ri_t92p7fkWu2x31vLuoyARP6iyqCihg3XQRCrJ6rghYY/s1600/dekentje_FO2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwtFR_Y7Ez2gxvzqSVnKDwLsTjp6mL6i7LQl0jbOffkDVGPYQOFGGbptbtDop4puIIGcKcBBeeK61rYCElUfzJ9SMbhfOOg_ri_t92p7fkWu2x31vLuoyARP6iyqCihg3XQRCrJ6rghYY/s1600/dekentje_FO2.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i knew i wanted something in 2 colours (although i also love
multi-coloured crochet blankets) and i decided on blue and yellow. the yarn is Woolly by DMC creative, which is 100% merino wool. (and, if we can believe the website, "sourced from Australia and 100% natural and renewable) i thought it was important to choose a yarn that was made of wool because wool gives a lot of warmth and tends to be better for sensitive baby skin. this yarn was also really really soft and gives a very nice drape when knit up. definitely a winner for baby stuff! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAjq5GRILgNF1g5j_tFRDpv-3FFbJvbO0isSNsky2aqYD4RUx8Igx9hhZK_w3Sq2X7MpsgmUeHjMIvpN2-CllzWfajJK0HYr7m_YvD-FInHh0uoG__y6ipaD_Y5CVbD917dpJRsbssxic/s1600/dekentje_WIP_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAjq5GRILgNF1g5j_tFRDpv-3FFbJvbO0isSNsky2aqYD4RUx8Igx9hhZK_w3Sq2X7MpsgmUeHjMIvpN2-CllzWfajJK0HYr7m_YvD-FInHh0uoG__y6ipaD_Y5CVbD917dpJRsbssxic/s1600/dekentje_WIP_01.jpg" height="400" width="398" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
for the pattern i was heavily inspired by <a href="http://lisakinoo.be/blog/2013/09/06-09-2013/">this blanket </a>by Lisa Kinoo. i made some swatches and decided on double moss stitch. i made some calculations and cast on a huge number of stitches and just started knitting away! after i knit a big rectangle (i aimed for a size of 140x80cm but it turned out somewhat smaller), i finished with some single crochet rows and finally a scalloped edge. (pattern found in some old thrifted crochet book.) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7JKtnUqkMmY_0gX66Wc7zrBw_cVzFCzWvjmFNgEhknTt4m-qGWm-lKkCL9PD96RWVtNBVX2yUrORfOYfhTdkIsfgnfzjw4b1BwYU9RLNLO7qWvJIqUQON91F2C5rReWDclKSef8Dkk2A/s1600/dekentje_WIP_04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7JKtnUqkMmY_0gX66Wc7zrBw_cVzFCzWvjmFNgEhknTt4m-qGWm-lKkCL9PD96RWVtNBVX2yUrORfOYfhTdkIsfgnfzjw4b1BwYU9RLNLO7qWvJIqUQON91F2C5rReWDclKSef8Dkk2A/s1600/dekentje_WIP_04.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
i also finally learned how to hold my yarn "the right way". i knit
english style and i used to "throw" my yarn, but without holding it over
my index finger. knitting this amount of purl and knit stitches was
very hard on my wrist, so i went to my mom for advice. she showed me how
to hold my yarn this way, which is much better for my wrists! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNz4qW72fSvv8Ub2QYl4N5jfnPXE9NCKK9kYbb15_0LIVy6WErufTjZGv_5XOWn5JN5WvHcNK3QOoiLrXlCjDe7BGf4zYJa2s1XKLqAk9iHA1ZwKWvXzqqqtXzYkz5B9jnBT9Cq9XpC_c/s1600/dekentje_WIP_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNz4qW72fSvv8Ub2QYl4N5jfnPXE9NCKK9kYbb15_0LIVy6WErufTjZGv_5XOWn5JN5WvHcNK3QOoiLrXlCjDe7BGf4zYJa2s1XKLqAk9iHA1ZwKWvXzqqqtXzYkz5B9jnBT9Cq9XpC_c/s1600/dekentje_WIP_02.jpg" height="400" width="397" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and finally, some details:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- i started knitting in september and finished in january.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
it was my on-the-train-knit until it started getting too big to carry along everyday.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- i used 9 balls of yarn (8 yellow, 1 blue. i loved working with this yarn!) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- and some things i learned in the process: <br />
1. i will never EVER again start a new ball of yarn in the middle of a row.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. i should keep better notes about the amount of stitches i cast on.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. blocking really made this blankie look 4572x times better than when it just came off the needles. :) </div>

hi everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
today i want to share a baby gift i made for a little boy named Gus. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i made <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2012/11/one-thing-i-love-about-being.html">a stuffed toy</a> for his big brother more than two years ago, so it made sense that i made a toy for Gus also. i wanted to make a different toy, boy-ish not only in colours but also in design. but it also had to be cute!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
after thinking and planning for some time, i bought some cotton yarn in colours i liked and gave <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stash-busting-monster">this monster pattern </a>a go. i drew some colour schemes (planning is half the fun!) and went for it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
somewhere between christmas and
new years eve, i finished the toy. </div>

hi everyone! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>happy 2015! </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i know i'm a bit late with my newyears-blogpost, but better late than never! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
it's becoming a tradition to start the new year with a review about the past year, so here i am! i haven't blogged for a while so you will see some things that are new... i know it was silent here on the blog but i that doesn't mean i've been sitting still! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeMfQZo5ktSKtS0CT4Xk07CLk0c9Mhi70rETEqUjER6jJDq7nZFwUpi2d3y5KjTxkZX9-F0IgTkjQnKAoYTx2w1NH25cdokYmWoN2HwkmnKKEwOFsoMu_Fo5mnNOA_VbUo7w3tcbCxcWA/s1600/overzicht_2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeMfQZo5ktSKtS0CT4Xk07CLk0c9Mhi70rETEqUjER6jJDq7nZFwUpi2d3y5KjTxkZX9-F0IgTkjQnKAoYTx2w1NH25cdokYmWoN2HwkmnKKEwOFsoMu_Fo5mnNOA_VbUo7w3tcbCxcWA/s1600/overzicht_2014.jpg" height="640" width="281" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in 2014 i made a lot of baby stuff, finished my very first cardigan (<a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2014/02/last-week-end-i-really-finished-paulie.html">Paulie!</a>), taught myself how to knit "the proper way" (you know, with the yarn over the index finger), got my sewing mojo back and tried to finish all those everlasting WIP's! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in 2015 i want to finish at least two big WIP's and knit mittens, a hat and at least one pair socks for myself. and i'm still trying to keep <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2014/05/some-time-ago-when-i-was-buying-new.html">my crafty new years resolutions </a>of last year. :) oh and i'm gonna try to blog at least once a month. ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
do you have crafty plans for 2015?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
♥ </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

wow, life has been busy lately!! there are so much things going on, i never get around taking pictures of my wip's anymore... even commenting on your blogs is getting harder and harder these days. but anyway, those of you following me on instagram will have already noticed: i've been a crafty busy bee lately! so here's a major update! with lots of pics too, to make up for the lack of updates. ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i finished my vanilla latte socks! did these turn out gorgeous or what?!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i love everything about them, the self striping yarn, the colours, the pattern, the fact that the stripes line up without even trying (!)...<br />

i also knit some piggies for my mom, as goodbye-gifts for her co-workers. </div>

(she works as an accountant for a pig-breeding-company... sounds really weird but it explains the pigs ;)) she did most of the knitting and i put them together! we made ten of these and they turned out rather cute, she put a label around their neck with a little personal message, really nice. :)</div>

earlier this month, we went on a camping trip to France. (at Lac de Pannecière in Corancy. which is, to be precise, part of the Morvan Regional Natural Parc. so gorgeous!) <br />
it's becoming a little tradition of mine to cast on a pair of socks before we leave on vacation. (socks are the perfect knitting project to take with you on vacation; small, portable and quick!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so some days before we left, i cast on a pair of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vanilla-latte-socks">vanilla latte socks</a> with <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/people/severien/stash/fortissima-mexiko">fortissima mexiko yarn</a> from my stash. it's been a while since i knit socks with selfstriping yarn, and i thought this yarn was perfect for the pattern.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
also, my boyfriend likes to fish, so when we can, we go to a place where there's a lake. evenings are best for fishing so we spent many evenings at the lake, fishing/knitting until dark, drinking a beer and enjoying the view in the meantime.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMjxHX-dWVJEwPEunYLiute1VpoaJzu31jhS4xZRW-pebcUz37lOiNQxr3msadQMBAY0eU8U0kHoYJiJf6xAxD8QtzBp5nMoqxPEwxGpFsctvDTC5QXB-jo-ZVFxPFctPfBf4PzelOOls/s1600/vacation_knitting_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMjxHX-dWVJEwPEunYLiute1VpoaJzu31jhS4xZRW-pebcUz37lOiNQxr3msadQMBAY0eU8U0kHoYJiJf6xAxD8QtzBp5nMoqxPEwxGpFsctvDTC5QXB-jo-ZVFxPFctPfBf4PzelOOls/s1600/vacation_knitting_01.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
we also went to visit a little town called Vézelay, mostly to go and see the abbey (which is pretty amazing), and in one of the tiny, uphill streets, we discovered this yarn shop from <a href="http://www.mohair-alpaga-valdampierre.com/">"la Ferme du Val Dampierre"</a>... ♥</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
the shop was full of sweaters, gloves, afghans, gloves, hats, mittens,... all hand knit with yarn from their own farm! they also sold yarn, and i had the hardest time picking something to take home... i was in (yarn) heaven!! (i know that's breaking my not-buying-new-yarn rule. but i couldn't leave without buying something.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-lCqGNUm-sBXeyr8waMfrWu443wo1SVzYkTpg5jAtHNPdZP6n6QxqggUU2w8fUq0anRvrd9jsYH9KQz0ayqzYLB2nUZzmQ4SGiRuTBdcqNt1ddAaD9IOxNU2f-JwbSPLqFCvno3ergZs/s1600/vacation_knitting_04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-lCqGNUm-sBXeyr8waMfrWu443wo1SVzYkTpg5jAtHNPdZP6n6QxqggUU2w8fUq0anRvrd9jsYH9KQz0ayqzYLB2nUZzmQ4SGiRuTBdcqNt1ddAaD9IOxNU2f-JwbSPLqFCvno3ergZs/s1600/vacation_knitting_04.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(also in the shop: a cute little dog, shy at first but so sweet. not for sale though.)</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
i purchased two balls of alpaca yarn (sock weight). ooohhh these colours... this is without a doubt the prettiest, deepest burgundy colour i've ever seen! i paired it with a pretty teal colour. i love how they look together. this yarn is also ridiculously soft... i'm thinking about gloves...(combining the two with some colourwork, maybe?) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5NclGEM5HbjMnM1u6h08-eILScI9ZKBiInJg084YT4uaZgUCy05b6GZE9LfU-Ekpdi7LO1AhLEiO06PB3qAgBN-nw3l_2nCelywIm5-5h38DJkGbDuimvbk-9BWKSu83uErCRCutaFGE/s1600/vacation_knitting_06.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5NclGEM5HbjMnM1u6h08-eILScI9ZKBiInJg084YT4uaZgUCy05b6GZE9LfU-Ekpdi7LO1AhLEiO06PB3qAgBN-nw3l_2nCelywIm5-5h38DJkGbDuimvbk-9BWKSu83uErCRCutaFGE/s1600/vacation_knitting_06.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so... after a week of relaxing, we're back to work and once again full of energy!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
don't you love vacation? how did you spend yours?</div>

ahh, today is the first day of my vacation and although the weather is sunny, i felt like sharing a blogpost first. :) featuring the first baby knits of the year! (maybe there are more to come, i don't know. depends on our baby-making friends and family i guess ;))</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
for the first couple that was expecting a baby boy, i made an <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aviatrix-hat">aviatrix hat</a> and some booties. i used the brightest blue i could find (i really LOVE this colour) and finished with a white button. i really enjoyed knitting the aviatrix hat, it was a bit challenging (first time knitting short rows) and it turns out SO cute. the booties were knit using <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easiest--fastest-baby-booties-ever">this pattern,</a> but i made them with a p1,k1 ribbing to match the hat.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
i also couldn't resist crocheting<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crochet-tractor-2"> a tractor,</a> perfect for boys, no? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
it's not as perfect as i want it to be, but i think it's cute nonetheless. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and for a sweet baby girl i made the same set, but in grey. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to make it a bit more baby-like, i combined the grey with a soft yellow button. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(ooh boy, do i love that button!)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
hmmm, i think baby things are my favorite things to make (next to socks, maybe!). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
small items (which means: quick finish!), colourful, and so, so tiny and cute! </div>

ahh, i finally found some time to take some pictures of my wip's!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
it's like my hook was on fire, the hexagon blanket is now more than double the size since <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2014/05/some-time-ago-when-i-was-buying-new.html">this blogpost!</a> i'm not sure about which size i want it to be, so i'm making a square first and then i'll see what size it should be. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFri6-dQXIJGX2xta-abefG_zlK18K5A5Oi_cBzwyWGQKtR6gDor2CsXVJVC2-vDbX0blB4m4VYN6xafCWjqAoBMIGjRfqv-4BwXEsYJB8y2Zmx3N4AN3R1sf-giz5jaE_PUCW5DI8m8Y/s1600/hexagonblanket_WIP_03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFri6-dQXIJGX2xta-abefG_zlK18K5A5Oi_cBzwyWGQKtR6gDor2CsXVJVC2-vDbX0blB4m4VYN6xafCWjqAoBMIGjRfqv-4BwXEsYJB8y2Zmx3N4AN3R1sf-giz5jaE_PUCW5DI8m8Y/s1600/hexagonblanket_WIP_03.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
also: an update on<a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2013/09/somewhere-in-july-i-started-yet-another.html"> the picnic blanket!</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i finished the first "scarf", and started the second one last week... i'm not loving this color combination so far, but it looked good on<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDil3eOMWudHYgfoSoFNKjWYfvJsJfLlP4r_wl7xg4bFtEBhqXsGq7I10p7vh8AvRbgv0wBa5SQwtVF4Oqvnjp5ovEUlUiV8LkvDw6pKoYZHlxIAQeiTLtXi090zQ9MpjDwGSyPmuHbj8/s1600/picnicblanket_04.jpg"> the sketch</a> so i'll just continue like this! this is the most relaxing knit EVER, just garter stitch and not even thinking about colors... whoever said knitting is the new yoga is SO right!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
i also completed adding <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/people/severien/stash">my stash</a> on ravelry. i discovered i have enough yarn for 20 pairs of socks... and i rrrrreaally want to cast on a new pair. :) and i matched some of my favorite patterns to yarn i already have! so when i finally finish these blankets, i'll know what to do! :) what is currently on your needles/hooks? big plans for new projects?</div>

after my last post i've been really motivated to really do something about my "bad" habits! i finished knitting all the baby stuff and started crocheting like crazy on my hexagon blanket! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i did this while enjoying the lovely weather the last weekends... :) life as it should be! ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKUFf2muCWhkjmAd4lup9dNUTvNyXdLN8SujToLErZoyYaB_oad_XrTi0Ziop1Mz40m-dMKzznzag-3pgUVtLGCw0JHV8BuPbG5DgTOQbzRtvPk_CmEeWy_mWQPjIY0rzwlG5Zryvv8G0/s1600/sunshinecrochet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKUFf2muCWhkjmAd4lup9dNUTvNyXdLN8SujToLErZoyYaB_oad_XrTi0Ziop1Mz40m-dMKzznzag-3pgUVtLGCw0JHV8BuPbG5DgTOQbzRtvPk_CmEeWy_mWQPjIY0rzwlG5Zryvv8G0/s1600/sunshinecrochet.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
our chickens were enjoying the sunshine too. aren't they the cutest? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Vv9HGlCD6uyoW-6Cq5eWmCj2IyUeGsiwrN0reTSKQsjhrJ6hecbZ-euPTAYMSrjePoRAFOB01lD-pLkdcwN_cB3dqwOwHZN3IeyLfMlc0tXjjjHdE8ZLlEQ_4oHFTGY7EYGGKOYSVBM/s1600/chickens.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Vv9HGlCD6uyoW-6Cq5eWmCj2IyUeGsiwrN0reTSKQsjhrJ6hecbZ-euPTAYMSrjePoRAFOB01lD-pLkdcwN_cB3dqwOwHZN3IeyLfMlc0tXjjjHdE8ZLlEQ_4oHFTGY7EYGGKOYSVBM/s1600/chickens.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
i also reorganised my stash and put it all on ravelry, which was a suggestion from <a href="http://blog.bapsicrafts.com/">Britney</a> from bapsicrafts. this way i can match yardages/weights to my ravelry faves and knit/crochet away! it's also good to see what i have, which is obviously a lot more difficult when it's all stuffed in a box in the basement. :) turns out i have enough yarn for 9 pairs of socks, at least two or three baby sweaters and wristwarmers or gloves. and this is only the first box of three... oh-ooow!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
oh and here's a sneak preview of one of the baby knits... so, so adorable. but more about that later!</div>

some time ago, when i was buying new yarn for a new knitting project, i didn't even realize that i made 2 crafty new years resolutions in the beginning of the year. my boyfriend kindly reminded me of my resolutions when i was bragging about the new yarn i got and how well it suits my new projects... it got me thinking and i had to share:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>resolution #1: </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>finish all WIP's before starting ANYTHING new.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
this one started out good, really good actually. after i finished Paulie, i finished my pair of monstersocks and started crocheting like crazy on my hexagon blankets. so far so good. but then some friends were expecting babies and how am i supposed to NOT knit baby stuff? on the bright side: i did manage to finish all baby knits without knitting or crocheting anything new in between. except for that tiny house keychain i made last week, but hey, i <i>needed</i> that! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
on to<b> resolution #2:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>do NOT buy new yarn. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i checked my stash some months ago and i have so many yarn... it's ridiculous. i can easily knit two years with yarn from my stash only... the problem with my stashed yarn is that i didn't buy it with a particular project in mind. so, when i want to start a new project (like baby stuff), i can't find *exactly* the yarn i'm looking for. and i HAVE to go and get some new yarn. i did decide for myself that IF i buy new yarn, i can only buy it with a specific project in mind and i have to finish the project as soon as possible.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
now, to try and remind myself of resolution #1, i'm going to make a list in the side bar with my current WIPS. it might help if i visualize it... and i'm also sharing some photos of the biggest WIP's i have to finish... i started these hexagon blankets in 2011 (!!) and 2013... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdqmPDSpgsI01tmOM2-z2pmuV7KSiTSOF0yk49UNzYdoyLuKGtl8ciWad2EKHnjhXPN7sLmQXjjKrl-EMEu6Jws2zb5mJW880p8dDO3yrVG0A0IFFZw-PWsu0b7IBUMvmt5U9smEHJjkw/s1600/hexagonblanket_WIP_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdqmPDSpgsI01tmOM2-z2pmuV7KSiTSOF0yk49UNzYdoyLuKGtl8ciWad2EKHnjhXPN7sLmQXjjKrl-EMEu6Jws2zb5mJW880p8dDO3yrVG0A0IFFZw-PWsu0b7IBUMvmt5U9smEHJjkw/s1600/hexagonblanket_WIP_01.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the biggest problem with the first is that i never get around to putting all the hexagons together... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiydcs3wXjSCy8qYEY4Qx1DzqtuPd0xPCGuWyFI529-oaSogu_GphgVmeo1WZDH5DnY5RzWPqS82tJYBZ1QyL8Rf_RAKgNPfhvf6slRAH5evUocPb_oHPnWZb5cXZkrP5WGCYU5QeEE6sk/s1600/hexagonblanket_WIP_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiydcs3wXjSCy8qYEY4Qx1DzqtuPd0xPCGuWyFI529-oaSogu_GphgVmeo1WZDH5DnY5RzWPqS82tJYBZ1QyL8Rf_RAKgNPfhvf6slRAH5evUocPb_oHPnWZb5cXZkrP5WGCYU5QeEE6sk/s1600/hexagonblanket_WIP_02.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
i started this crazy hexagon blanket somewhere in 2013, i think. progress on this one is faster (join as you go!!) and it's also crocheted with a bigger hook so that helps too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigRqLgzvPWQtTaESlGvL6Q2Sk4Invtngij2MWQ9v2o8fvYQ6PqmehT7rwJuHfFiTM9N6lYJW5jfBU03Knw16VtF_VwElZ7jg4o8o4CIIuGLHR2Axl-o3lvG8oemTrFw6VrOZgoZ66Rnu8/s1600/hexagonblanketv2_WIP_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigRqLgzvPWQtTaESlGvL6Q2Sk4Invtngij2MWQ9v2o8fvYQ6PqmehT7rwJuHfFiTM9N6lYJW5jfBU03Knw16VtF_VwElZ7jg4o8o4CIIuGLHR2Axl-o3lvG8oemTrFw6VrOZgoZ66Rnu8/s1600/hexagonblanketv2_WIP_01.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
do you have knitting/crocheting resolutions or rules you stick by? please do share! :)</div>
severienhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15736367962359756090noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472230723120240333.post-48284123521225172252014-04-13T20:16:00.000+02:002014-04-13T20:16:35.252+02:00<div style="text-align: center;">
so, last week i lost my bike keys. i thought i lost them on the train (which resulted in taking the train back to work, when i was almost home - i NEED those keys), but it turned out they fell out of my purse when locking my other bike. (yep, two bikes, because home and work are 60km apart and i go by bike, train and bike again) lucky for me, a colleague went to look for them in the bike racks of the train station and she found them! happy - and lucky- me!! (sarah: if you're reading: honourable mention on the blog, especially for you)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i have a special talent for forgetting, losing or misplacing my stuff. i don't know how it happens and why, and i really do try to pay extra attention when i put things in one place or leave the train, but still, it happens quite frequently. i'm gonna try to force myself to check my purse when i leave: <i>wallet: check, phone: check, keys: check!</i> and i decided my keys need a bigger keychain!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha4rj1WQavunix33bgjh0Bi1NXEhXMNAt-YGnRWn_dCsvNpTkPJCRT38YHKz85-jq4tXjW5p4jcw27iQzG3XFTankfP7XTCqVaO-wY96qImP4OYWD7GyjxRmgLMhxUmzmBcj1aBR-IjOA/s1600/knittedhouse_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha4rj1WQavunix33bgjh0Bi1NXEhXMNAt-YGnRWn_dCsvNpTkPJCRT38YHKz85-jq4tXjW5p4jcw27iQzG3XFTankfP7XTCqVaO-wY96qImP4OYWD7GyjxRmgLMhxUmzmBcj1aBR-IjOA/s1600/knittedhouse_01.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so i made this tiny knitted house today. i'm really happy with it! it could use some perfectioning, like the duplicate stitches i tried (the door is a bit wonky but the window looks pretty good i think - i might try this technique again to embellish some of my knitting work or to fake intricate colourwork), but i just made the pattern up and i think it turned out pretty well. :) yay!</div>

remember <a href="http://gelukkigindejarenzestig.blogspot.be/2013/10/my-scrappy-socks-are-coming-along-quite.html">my scrappy socks?</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
well... they're finally finished! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and i LOVE them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1SpGfNljhz2Ew-iFjZB2HQKcvqtmujm1YWEinEOKfHqCBsgVmv4HXhscKzORK22y036XeE8UXvhsQkJkeS4Q9Y2miD3ZplLRiQF-66TwqmIcT5XcjDxz-vmQvY5yy6Lbx-fvUQ2bGs2c/s1600/monstersocks_01v2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1SpGfNljhz2Ew-iFjZB2HQKcvqtmujm1YWEinEOKfHqCBsgVmv4HXhscKzORK22y036XeE8UXvhsQkJkeS4Q9Y2miD3ZplLRiQF-66TwqmIcT5XcjDxz-vmQvY5yy6Lbx-fvUQ2bGs2c/s1600/monstersocks_01v2.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i call them my "hippie socks"!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDBhbjnJztXfKiYXE2wflDq3CcarENmWvxCoa9sCMcKpfvrTN0eOTTCosPTMY_83JgaRV62XH2iiswf0oPBiTLxA1cdizUDRP7yx4tAkF7p0I-h08YDO3rHkdf4cM0teeGPlIJH-FgMCI/s1600/monstersocks_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDBhbjnJztXfKiYXE2wflDq3CcarENmWvxCoa9sCMcKpfvrTN0eOTTCosPTMY_83JgaRV62XH2iiswf0oPBiTLxA1cdizUDRP7yx4tAkF7p0I-h08YDO3rHkdf4cM0teeGPlIJH-FgMCI/s1600/monstersocks_02.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i made these with 13 different leftover yarns. i grabbed the yarn from a
bag to make them look as "random" as possible... i did make sure all
the different colours were divided equally! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkOjpkc2pHZYyIB0DFhiryFH8FU2H4cGWSfy26WgHw7AwARZ-G2Mv9_L8gL6XRNiKFgV_ZMgkNy3dLUXvrP5V0qSJb2E-2GyOkcdsk_JbDMKbL5ZsGuUUB3vqDSTW0okMubKbUrQDN3OE/s1600/monstersocks_03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkOjpkc2pHZYyIB0DFhiryFH8FU2H4cGWSfy26WgHw7AwARZ-G2Mv9_L8gL6XRNiKFgV_ZMgkNy3dLUXvrP5V0qSJb2E-2GyOkcdsk_JbDMKbL5ZsGuUUB3vqDSTW0okMubKbUrQDN3OE/s1600/monstersocks_03.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
this is definitely my most colourful pair yet... and now i feel like
knitting socks only until i have enough scraps for another pair! i'm in
the "monstersocks"-group
on ravelry and i have my eye on some great sock patterns already...
(don't you love planning out new projects, even if it's just in your
head and you know you can't actually start because you have a ton of other projects to
finish first?)</div>

here i am again with an "old" project!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY-3GP_NSi5a-_TEJfdicGUFIjyY8RQprFXusZnh_b8rH1I_D3AQWdYIDSnvbFf5qL76DmY5yWXXaK8EuE90iR5jXXrpjbaWYvgK7KjKwTPzj7hRKK1y-wcqLLWv2wIpwTnBu80-98jRI/s1600/wristwarmers_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY-3GP_NSi5a-_TEJfdicGUFIjyY8RQprFXusZnh_b8rH1I_D3AQWdYIDSnvbFf5qL76DmY5yWXXaK8EuE90iR5jXXrpjbaWYvgK7KjKwTPzj7hRKK1y-wcqLLWv2wIpwTnBu80-98jRI/s1600/wristwarmers_01.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i made these wristwarmers last september or october, i think. i remember
that it was getting chillier in the mornings, but not yet cold enough
for wearing gloves. so i made these cute wristwarmers on
my daily trainrides to work. you can find the pattern <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fingerless-gloves-with-a-bow">here!</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBRuBsBOPC8MZe9dLRB9hgeUs-EId5AikQX5cYnsBuK-virSG6GR6bxX4cmiLrbZqt_iRtefb96jsZj8t8qlVCnHqLw5sTWz9ZpwCEmNaO7TwWsk1_ZyP__9C51l_KN66upkKycD9KsCQ/s1600/wristwarmers_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBRuBsBOPC8MZe9dLRB9hgeUs-EId5AikQX5cYnsBuK-virSG6GR6bxX4cmiLrbZqt_iRtefb96jsZj8t8qlVCnHqLw5sTWz9ZpwCEmNaO7TwWsk1_ZyP__9C51l_KN66upkKycD9KsCQ/s1600/wristwarmers_02.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i also wear these alot at home. my hands can get really cold when i'm working on the computer, so i always have these lying around somewhere close to the computer. ;) my boyfriend thinks i look like a beggar wearing these but i like them anyway. they keep my hands warm AND they have a bow, so what's not to like?</div>

today the weather is is feeling like spring and so am i!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i am longing for a good, thorough spring clean-up but i lack the time. however, i DID clean up our computer and discovered some photos of projects i hadn't yet blogged about, so i will be sharing these in the following posts!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
first up is a pair of socks i finished in march 2013. the reason i didn't blog this pair is simple: i don't like them. there's nothing <i>wrong</i><b><i> </i></b>with them, i just don't like the look of the yarn. they were knitted with Opal Sock yarn and it turns out, i am just not an Opal fan. ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrttdswLn6gFPL4oZ4K5RWJpFb2epfJGno7QtXk6nnbw4xvzE4PTeaQ2_5DonJonTQ2NNuU_7MVttsPQEslgvhIJq7yMsu_4ZAO7RMqjj298Nj1-plWRR645qPZfBPG1CTVWCvAorF5j0/s1600/socks06_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrttdswLn6gFPL4oZ4K5RWJpFb2epfJGno7QtXk6nnbw4xvzE4PTeaQ2_5DonJonTQ2NNuU_7MVttsPQEslgvhIJq7yMsu_4ZAO7RMqjj298Nj1-plWRR645qPZfBPG1CTVWCvAorF5j0/s1600/socks06_FO_02.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(also: notice how the yarn pools a little bit on the right sock leg - for those who don't know what pooling means, let me share my knitters geek wisdom with you: pooling is when colours knit up in "blotches", creating "pools" of colour. this was my first "pooling experience" and EUGH, i do <b>not </b>like it.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUbjslV7HwP7CJha6EWi-oyP9zGfBQKD9-Uw0CjW1jgmfFRoan_V1HvcQbGEq2OvNSPTZyO8HgnUnFn9ZQflIKFMhy389wEEb17ANtWdcR8k8vCy3WE6A_SJY0JIcQv02gP7JS8hpaX8E/s1600/socks06_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUbjslV7HwP7CJha6EWi-oyP9zGfBQKD9-Uw0CjW1jgmfFRoan_V1HvcQbGEq2OvNSPTZyO8HgnUnFn9ZQflIKFMhy389wEEb17ANtWdcR8k8vCy3WE6A_SJY0JIcQv02gP7JS8hpaX8E/s1600/socks06_01.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
let's also share a (small) project that i do like: yesterday i made a crocheted bookmark for my moms birthday (for the record: we had a bigger gift too, i just like giving something hand-made even if it's tiny like this) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4vAalNDdb74Q4h74zuKN55nEg6EYWw_P_vcZUkddhRo6xPr3c34hrr2bVnbxs-imbqdwQsqP7b1OMKcqR34NvZ4HC2tF9l_IQcMjVXw6VeTgF4RtkgleLQH5f7lhyphenhyphen7kOziJnANokgjMQ/s1600/bookmark_FO_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4vAalNDdb74Q4h74zuKN55nEg6EYWw_P_vcZUkddhRo6xPr3c34hrr2bVnbxs-imbqdwQsqP7b1OMKcqR34NvZ4HC2tF9l_IQcMjVXw6VeTgF4RtkgleLQH5f7lhyphenhyphen7kOziJnANokgjMQ/s1600/bookmark_FO_01.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
i'm definitely making one for myself too, because this is way more
stylish than a supermarket receipt, right? (and i have to admit, i love
the tassel)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFrrP1m_2mAd9j_GZ_zpjIJVQEEnHQ7K87MrESQsJPIDfFg79AMUQ-4Kfh1hdTDoGfK1AKDH_uXkITAn3ukzbL5I2f7mMd9UzqUZUndVJkcCxWA83NBB5awqccUgmTdyG9A3FSvGrS8dY/s1600/bookmark_FO_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFrrP1m_2mAd9j_GZ_zpjIJVQEEnHQ7K87MrESQsJPIDfFg79AMUQ-4Kfh1hdTDoGfK1AKDH_uXkITAn3ukzbL5I2f7mMd9UzqUZUndVJkcCxWA83NBB5awqccUgmTdyG9A3FSvGrS8dY/s1600/bookmark_FO_02.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
